Distinguished and Highly endowed
Full with minerals, blessed with Scholars
A special garden enriched by the Almighty
Outshining with class and superiority
My home, your dwelling, our dear country
A litmosphere sitting on precious stones
Now turned to a minefield of great fears.
Our heroes fought to make their hope awake
Greatly they strived, Independence they achieved
Legacies, histories, sacrifices they made to make our sod stand
The Nigeria they upheld, we can’t even behold
What they fought for, we never care for
A place once luminous and full of hope
Is now at stake and full with tenebrous depths.
We feel discontent, we feel we a need for a change
Still, we abscond from virtues and want to see things right
Drowsily we spend our nights, in hope to wake and see things bright
We strike to get our wants, we protest and yell our call
All in hurry, for an immediate headway
Lo! Nothing comes with ease.
If we really hope for a change
If an illustrious future is still our aim
To make our country dear for the next younger generation
In me and you we must start the change
And sacrifices to claim our aim.
For our Qur’an preaches hardship with ease
Our Islam teaches a perfect way of life
Our Muhammad advocates love of our country as part of faith.
It’s time to make a positive change
For we have no where else as an abode!
